NZ ART SHOW 2026 Top 10 Artwork Wax Off. Wax On.

I’m incredibly honoured that my latest painting Wax Off. Wax On. has been selected as a Top 10 Artwork at this year’s NZ Art Show. To have this piece recognised among so many outstanding artists and works is deeply meaningful.

Wax Off Wax On is part of The Invisible Weight series created exclusively for the 2026 New Zealand Art Show. The painting explores the invisible load of domestic labour through the use of only cleaning tools like mops, brushes, and cloths. 🧹🧼🧽 Objects designed to erase marks are instead used to create them, turning repetitive acts of maintenance into visible gestures of effort, time, and persistence.

The moon is a symbol of connection and belonging. With so much division in the world, I seek to find the communal thread that weaves humanity together.
