Began as a heavy, dark sky to convey my sense of claustrophobia, a reflection of my inner turmoil during the start of lockdown. I felt crushed and contained and painted as an outlet to capture the emotional state of mind. As time passed and the sensations adapted I felt the need to turn the painting upside-down, turning the dark sky to light. Light and dark are always present.
